About Caregiver Support Initiative
Though our personal experiences, we realized that there were a lot of things we didn’t know during our caregiving years that would have made caregiving just a bit easier. There were questions we didn’t know to ask and possibilities and resources we didn’t know existed. Simply put, we didn’t know what we didn’t know!
Being former family caregivers, we want to help other caregivers by being a source of comfort, hope and information in what can be one of the most stressful times in a person’s life. We understand the mountain of emotions faced by caregivers from not enough time and resources to do what needs doing to feeling completely alone and overwhelmed.
Education is important and empowering at all stages of life. We have created workshops on a variety of subjects and concerns of the caregiver offering information and practical solutions to some of the day-to-day issues, and stress, that caregivers experience. There are also offer workshops on topics of interests to senior adults.

“There are only four kinds of people in the world: Those who have been caregivers, those who are currently caregivers, those who will be caregivers, and those who will need caregivers.”

COFOUNDER | VOLUNTEER
Debra Rudasics
Raised in Michigan, I had multiple adventures living in South Carolina, Colorado, and Indiana and found my way to Georgia in 2010, when I became the primary full-time caregiver for my chronically ill Mom. As a live-in caregiver, I understand the demands, challenges, and stresses of caring for a parent.
A Few Quick Facts
As a current hospice volunteer, I have been a co-facilitator of GriefShare since 2017. I was an avid Tennis Player, love listening to and singing music, enjoy road trips, and trying my hand at various crafts. I am the founder and director of the local LEO club – Let’s Eat Out.
COFOUNDER | VOLUNTEER
Diane Gasaway
Born in Atlanta, I have lived in Georgia my entire life. After 32 years of marriage, I became the primary caregiver for my husband, Tony until his death 18 months later from melanoma. I lived through the challenges of trying to balance work, doctor appointments, medication schedules, and caregiving while surviving.
With Debra, I have co-facilitated GriefShare since 2017 and became a hospice volunteer when I retired from working. There is a special place in my heart for caregivers of Alzheimer’s and dementia and I am honored to be a Volunteer Community Educator with Alzheimer’s Association, and a C.A.R.E.S Certified Dementia Specialist. I would love to come and speak with your group about Alzheimer’s, dementia, caregiving, or grieving. Just contact me.
I love horses and dogs. I like getting together with friends and family, speaking to groups about Alzheimer’s and Dementia, researching and my favorite thing is hanging out with my dog, Rascal.
