There are many reasons for caregivers to join a caregiver support group:
What are the advantages of a Peer Support Group?
Caregiving challenges can leave you feeling alone and isolated. When you’re overwhelmed and exhausted by caregiving responsibilities, it can feel like you are alone with nowhere to turn for help.
Being able to talk with others who truly understand what you’re going through reduces stress, validates your experience, and gives connection and support. It’s a relief to know that what you’re going through is normal.
A caregiver support group provides much-needed social support. This is especially important when family and friends aren’t supportive.
You won’t have to worry about judgment or confusion from non-caregivers since everyone is going through similar struggles.
